Gayfriendfinder.com is pretty much the same format as outpersonals.com and adultfriendfinder.com , only with what I believe to be  a focus on friendship, not nescessarily long term or sexual relationships.  The format is similar but the search criteria is not as defined.  So for an easy review I am going to reprint the outpersonal review and substitute the links with gayfriendfinder.com links.  Keep in mind that not everything included in the outpersonal.com site is necessarily included in the gayfriendfinder.com site.  They are similar with suddle differences.

Gayfriendfinder.com in my opinion is a more timid outpersonal.com .  That is alright though, a gay man can never have too many friends.  The home page itself is very user friendly and is not overly cluttered.

If you go to the “browse” button you can short cut the regular search engine to browse through a list of gay personals by category.  I love this feature!  You can go directly to a category such as, gay couples (two guys) seeking men, and see that there are three hundred and seventy listings for in the state of Michigan.  If you were to click on the link you can either view all of the listings or “drill down” (further narrowing your browsing) by clicking on another search category box…. very cool!

As far as the regular gay personals search button goes, gayfriendfinder.com has one of the best searches engines on a gay dating, gay personals site that I have seen.  If you sign up for the Gold membership (I highly recommend this level) you can access an extensive search form. You can even have matches emailed to you.  Another cool thing about the personals section, is that you can have a voice or video introduction (keep in mind the search criteria for gayfriendfinder is a little less defined).

If you are into joining groups. There is a world group section.  The groups are broken down by countries first, and then further thereafter.  There seems to be a little bit of everything under the sun in the groups category.  You will find anything from first timers to bi guys.  For some reason there seems to be a whole lot of orgy activity in my area…. who knew?

You can also create your own network and hot list, but I must say my favorite thing about this site has to be the unique idea of the magazine.  The Gayfriendfinder’s magazine content is provided by the members of outpersonals.com.   The articles are unique and interactive.

If you are into blogs check out the blog section.  There are some interesting ones.

Oh, I almost forgot about the “shop” button and the “get local” button.  I guess they are worth mentioning only because they are there.  The shop area in my opinion is nothing special.  It has pretty much your usual DVDs, toys, lubes, and lotions.  The get local area has a clickable map of your area and displays members, groups, blogs, recently submitted magazine articles and advice, in your region.  Ok, I suppose that is kind of cool.

Overall the site is simple to navigate, not too busy has wonderful search capabilities (especially for the gold members).  Be sure to check out the magazine.  It is a really unique and interesting feature.  Again I love the fact that the site is not cluttered with ads and visuals, especially when you get further into the site there are not any.
